One of the best mobility metrics is the Link Duration (LD) that presents how long two nodes are connected. OLSR is one of the most popular ad-hoc routing protocols. Multipoint Relays (MPR) is used by OLSR for controlled flooding. In this paper, we introduce a new approach to select a MPR in OLSR by using the simplest modification and no additional packet header. This approach introduces the idea of Link Duration for MPR selection that we call OLSR+LD. The OLSR and the OLSR+LD performance are evaluated in term of performance metrics using Random Waypoint Mobility model. We observe, that OLSR+LD performs better than OLSR nearly for all performance metrics in high density network.
